Orange Peel Tea Anyone?

Necessity is the 'motherhood of invention'. H had a craving for tea and I'm trying to fight off the beginnings of a sinus infection. She is exploring with inventing her own recipes and keeping them in a file. So... H was eating an orange today and didn't want to throw out the peelings. I mentioned that it might taste okay in a tea, she thought of some complimentary ingredients to put with the peelings; it was delish AND medicinal! If you'd like to try it, see her recipe below...

She has a tip for anyone fighting a cold: add a dash of black or cayenne pepper to the tea.

Orange Peel Tea

Ingredients

4 quarters of an orange peel

3 cups filtered water

dash of cinnamon

dash of ginger

Directions:

Boil water and add orange peel. Add ginger and cinnamon, turn off heat. Let steep for 3-5 minutes. Add honey or sugar to your delicious homemade tea. Sit back with a good book and enjoy.
